Update: Private Messaging Is Live!

We're pleased to announce an exciting new feature on nycgameindustry.com, Private Messaging! You can now contact other members and check your own messages directly on the site.

That's right; we now have our own custom mail client! We understand that being able to communicate and network with one-another is tantamount to the growth of our community and we hope you’ll find this new feature to be a positive step in the right direction.

To begin taking advantage of private messaging, simply log-in to your account (Don't have an account? Click Here to create one) and navigate to your profile page. Once there you’ll notice a new option under your profile image called “Inbox”. Click this link to be taken to your mailbox.

You can also access your mailbox via the log-in box on the sidebar. The log-in box will also display whether or not you have any unread messages and makes it easy to quickly determine your mailbox’s status. Click on the text next to where it says “Inbox” in the log-in box will also take you to your mailbox.

Once you’ve accessed your mailbox you have the option to view both messages you’ve received and messages you’ve sent. To switch between the two, click on the “Switch Boxes” link under your profile image.

To send a message to another registered user, first visit their profile page and click on the “Send Message” link located under their profile picture. After that, simply type your message in the text box and click “Submit”.

Once a user has been contacted, their username is stored on the sidebar in your inbox for easy access. This way you don’t have to visit their profile every time you want to send them a new message.
