Tiny Mantis's story begins in New York City, when Nik Mikros meets Haska Su in a graduate course in Game Design he is teaching at the School of Visual Arts. Nik is eager to meet like minded individuals to one day launch a new kind of game company; A company that believes bigger is not necessarily better. Haska, having started his own studio in Taiwan a few years earlier is also eager to meet like minded individuals in the U.S. The two hit it off, and Nik brings Haska on as a programmer for a Gameboy Advance project “I-Spy Challenger” he is working on at Black Hammer Game.
Fast forward one year. Nik meets TW Cooney. TW shows Nik an impressive working prototype for a card game he calls “Thugs”. Over that summer the two decide to meet weekly to discuss and further develop the game. With every passing week the game gets better and the two become more and more enthusiastic about its possibilities.
Six months pass, Nik's project at the time “Supremacy: Four Paths to Power” wraps up. He decides to strike out on his own, and launch his company right in the heart of New York City's Chinatown. When the rest of the team of talented individuals signs on, Tiny Mantis is born; A team of specialists in all aspects of game making; Tiny Mantis provides innovative game design, robust cutting edge technology, and of course great art. Their first venture “The Mosquito Project” is well received by the Indie Game community and the 500,000 unique players who have enjoyed the game so far.
