Police are currently searching for a gang of robbers caught on camera assaulting a cabbie while wearing Super Mario Bros. Halloween costumes.

According to the report, four young men were in a yellow cab around 4 a.m. on November 1st, supposedly after a Halloween party, when one of them tried to reach into the driver's pocket.

After stopping at a gas station in Staten Island the cabbie asked the men to pay and leave. Instead, they assaulted him, stole his cash and fled the scene. It was not confirmed whether or not the assailants were high on mushrooms…

Still, a surveillance video clearly shows two of the men - wearing colorful overalls and caps - wrestling with the driver while a third man dressed in a tuxedo acts as a lookout. Afterwards, we're assuming they decided to forego wheeled transportation and simply hopped the closest warp pipe back to Brooklyn.
