Summary
I'm currently Associate Professor of Digital Media Art at Mercer teaching 3D Modeling, Animation and Computer Art. Because I love improbable challenges, I've signed on to develop a Game Design Concentration for the program.
I'm very excited by the many innovations in gaming that are happening - novel "experiences" never before seen. There's so much potential for immersive/interactive/game spaces to become vehicles for human evolution. I'm intrigued by the social constructions that this new culture fosters.
In my fine art practice, I'm interested in exploring the intersections between virtual and real physicality and the subsequent impact on our sensory experience. The work is strongly influenced by the practice of ancient shamanic rituals. (Yes, I'm a pagan of sorts.)
Experience
I have a BA in Studio Art from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Industrial Design from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. I've worked in VR simulation research, Information Architecture, Multimedia Design and Software Application Development. Clients haved included: Glaxo SmithKline, Unisys, DuPont, Merrill Lynch, Qwest Communications and Proctor & Gamble. My digital media art has been exhibited nationally.
