PC World recently crunched some numbers and determined that New York City and Washington D.C. are among the areas with the most tech jobs available.
Some signs of economic recovery are emerging and a variety of organizations in some of the biggest U.S. cities are seeing demand for tech professionals, according to high-tech career industry watchers. The results are according to jobs and payscale posted on Dice as of May 1, 2009. Below are the results of the study from highest to lowest:

Remember that these aren't exclusively game development jobs we're talking about. This is the tech industry as a whole. However, it does provide a very promising glimpse at NYC’s future ability to attract fresh tech talent.
