Games for Change is happy to announce the 2009 Sixth Annual Games for Change Festival to be held in New York City!

Downloadable content for games, music, movies and more will come with a local and state sales tax in the state of New York if a proposed state budget is passed.

Just a quick note about some updates we’ve been making to the site. A number of exciting features are being worked on behind the scenes and you’ll soon begin to see slight modifications and additions to the site as we continue to move forward.

NYU announced Tuesday that it has launched the NYU Game Center, which will offer long-term undergraduate and graduate degrees in the research, design and development of digital games. NYU will become the first New York City college to offer a degree in video games.

Videogame publisher XS Games and 3 Doors Down have teamed up for PopStar Guitar, the all-new music-rhythm video game for pop music fans.

Fünde Razor is back for a fourth year — and this time they've added a new city! San Francisco joins the annual Child's Play events in Denver and New York City.

Black Friday sales for the video games industry were probably better than expected, but that's no guarantee of strong sales for the rest of the holiday season, Take Two Interactive Software Inc Chief Executive Strauss Zelnick said on Thursday.
