Registration for the 2010 Global Game Jam has opened! The venues have changed a bit this year with only one official NYC based location on the list. What can you build in 48 hours?
The Game Jam kicks off on January 29, 2010 and will be held at the NYU Game Center. The event is geared towards fostering cross disciplinary teamwork, innovative thinking, and experiemental problem solving. Participants from all over the world will meet-up at their designated locations and work in teams to build a functional game in two days.
The event is put on by the IGDA and is open to everyone. As stated on the event's website, "Although having computer skills is helpful, code experience is not necessary. Designers, developers, artists and anyone is welcome to try their hand at making a game during the GGJ." The IGDA is expecting the Global Game Jam to triple in size this year, and it's a great opportunity to get involved with other local professionals, students, and hobbyists to build something unique.
Also, if you can't make it to the city and/or live closer to upstate NY the GGJ will also be taking place in Albany at the same time.
