East Coast Game Developers Strike Again! Game Music, Inc. worked with indie developer Blue Door Productions to release the XNA Community retro-shooter, Fittest, this June.
The game combines classic arcade-style shooting play with a distinct cooperative gameplay experience. Fittest has been received extraordinarily well, ranking at #2 on IGN's "Top Picks" for the XNA community games. More info about the game can be found at the link below:
For the audio portion of the game, Game Music, Inc. Founder Mike Worth created the original sound effects and ambiences, and partnered with friend and fellow composer Andrew Aversa (Zircon from OCRemix), who created the pulse-pounding, retro-themed musical score for the game.
"Working on a game like Fittest reminded me of how much fun the classic video games are," said Mike Worth. "The retro-themed stylings of the shooter, combined with Andrew's and my love for classic 16-bit games, made the audio design portion of this game an absolute treat! I was able to indulge in some enjoyable audio mangling to create these organic, punchy sound effects that really push the game forward."
Fittest is available as an XBox Live Download, and retails for 400 Microsoft Points.
