Any one here into game modding? I've just started tinkering with Fallout 3's G.E.C.K. and checking out other people's mods. Consider me a a newb! I'm still trying to figure everything out, but I have a feeling I'll be addicted to it soon.

Other engines you may want to consider are Valve's Source engine, which you can download for free through Steam if you register a copy of any Source engine-based game (Half-Life 2 or newer is all Source). Another excellent option is the Unreal Engine 3.0, which you can acquire by picking up a copy of Unreal Tournament III for $12.99 at Gamestop (as of April 2009, I just picked up a copy).
