Condensing Forums

Hey everyone,

Just a quick question. We've been thinking of condensing the forums to better facilitate conversation and we're wondering if anyone had any objections to this.

The idea is to combine the Art & Animation, Game Design & Writing, Programming, and Audio forums into one big "Game Development" forum. Then all discussion of development related topics could be posted there instead of clicking through multiple forums.

Does anyone have any major objections to this? It's always possible to seperate them out again if we find it isn't working. Anyway, we'll probably make the change in the next few days unless we hear some good arguments as to why we shouldn't.

Thanks a lot for any feedback!

Re: Condensing Forums

Yeah that sounds great, when traffic improves a lot to the site than it might have to be expanded out again but I think right now that would be a great idea.

Re: Condensing Forums

Looks like there are more posts in the forums lately. A few ideas... Maybe keep up the trend by rolling the "Business & Production" section also into Game Development (only one thread so far...)? I also feel like the Students section could be better labeled as "Breaking In" and the Help Wanted section could be better labeled as "Indie Game Dev" or something similar, which may get more people to post in those sections. In truth, people looking to break in should be participating in Indie Game Dev, so maybe those two should be consolidated as well...

Cheers,
Alex

Re: Condensing Forums

Forums have been condensed! Along with some other minor changes I think we are pretty well structured for now. Thanks everyone for all the great feedback. :-)
