"Philosophy & Games" -- For centuries philosophers have explored the concepts of "game" and "play," from Friedrich Schiller's notion of the "play-drive" to Johan Huizinga's image of "the human as player." In this presentation Alex Gallowy will explore the interplay between philosophy and games in these and other writers, ending with a quick introduction to the contemporary trend known as "object-oriented philosophy."

After a long hiatus, the IGDA Game Developers’ Meetup is starting again this month. Scheduled for every fourth Tuesday of the month from 7 pm to 8 pm, this Meetup focuses on discussions regarding the artistic and technical work that goes into game development as well as the business aspect of creating games and running a game company.
