Drink nights are a low-key New York game industry get together where we meet, have a few drinks, and shmooze about the biz. Whether you're a grizzled veteran who's been in the scene for ages, or a fresh-eyed newbie looking to get involved, all are welcome!
What:
Drink Night
Where:
No Idea Bar
30 East 20th St.
(between Park and B'way)
When:
January 28th
7:00pm
Also, the name of the night is Maxine. So if that's you're name then you get to drink for free!
Hope to see you all there!

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to this one! I'm going to be out of town that week, and although where I’m going is warmer and more tropical, I’m still a little bummed I’m going to miss out.
To make it up though, nycgameindustry.com is going to hold a contest!
That’s right; we need a logo for these drink nights. The New York game scene has been holding these for a couple of years at this point, but up until recently we haven’t had a nifty site like this to really promote and brand them.
What we’re looking for is something creative and original we can use alongside every Drink Night announcement. This contest is open to everyone and the winner will win two (2) drinks of their choice at either this upcoming Drink Night or the one in February.
If you’re interested just submit your designs by January 27th to admin [at] nycgameindustry.com and we’ll announce the winner on the 28th. If there isn’t any interest then we’ll just have to design one ourselves and it probably won’t be very good. Plus as a community site and as a community event we think it would cool to have you guys get in on the fun as well.
This is also being cross posted in the forums so feel free to collaborate and brainstorm to your hearts content. Look forward to seeing what (and if) you guys come up with!
What a neat idea! Yeah, I'd say this is a firm NYC game industry staple, now. So it deserves a logo!
Dave, don't make it Wednesdays!!! We can't come. Well, maybe Brandon could if he weren't going someplace tropical.
