Come Out & Play will transform New York City into a playground once again! The annual festival runs this summer during the weekend of June 12-14. The Tank, a wonderful non-profit arts space, plays host and serves as the events central headquarters.

 

This year - Come Out & Play's fourth! - will be like the last three years only better, thanks in part to an amazing lineup of partners. The cream of the locative gaming crop are converging in NYC to run their very best games in Times Square, Central Park, Hell's Kitchen, and Pier 84; there will be awesome parties on Friday and Saturday night with games, booze, and prizes; Come Out & Play is also giving out awards to the best games at a special ceremony on Sunday; and there'll be a titillating panel discussion on Saturday morning about the intersections of geography and urban gaming.

It's worth pointing out that not all these games are highly-athletic feats of strength and agility; it looks like a decent chunk of them are simple and involve using gadgets you already own, such as iPhones and digital cameras. Check out Photopolis and Hidden Park for examples!

This sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun and I'm really looking forward to participating. Anyone else planning on attending? If so we should coordinate!
