New York City Gamestops may be used to dealing with swarms of passionate customers, but for one local Gamestop in Union Square, last Saturday was beyond anything they'd imagined.
Thousands of bees swarmed outside the 14th street branch, trapping employees inside for hours. A single sign stood inside the window, bearing but one message for shoppers:
"Look!...closed due to bee infestation"
Fortunately, the NYPD arrived with a trained bee specialist and was able to lure the bees away via the scent of a queen bee, which ultimately proved more enticing than Gamestop's latest 2 for 1 trade-in deal.
The store has since reopened for business and the bees are being taken to a hive upstate...presumably where a Street Fighter 4 tournament is being held.
